English through fun: cartoons, songs and stories for children
The short answer: children hear a lot of English when they watch cartoons, sing songs and listen to stories they enjoy. BattoTV puts clear English videos first and brings favourites back, so English becomes part of the fun, not a lesson.
It is not an English class, and watching videos alone will not make a child fluent. Talking, singing and reading together matter most.
Why fun helps
Children pay attention to things they enjoy. A favourite cartoon or song keeps them listening, and they hear the same words many times, in real situations, without feeling tested.
That is why BattoTV starts with fun: cartoons, songs and stories, with learning videos mixed in, not the other way round.
English first, mostly British English
BattoTV Picks are mostly in clear British English, which many Sri Lankan schools use. Our team chooses videos from original children's channels and groups them by age.
Families who also love local cartoons can add a few Sinhala or Tamil favourites, a small part of the mix.

Repeats they enjoy: Sing Again and Read Again
Children learn words by hearing them again and again. BattoTV brings back favourite songs and stories as Sing Again and Read Again, spaced out so they don't get bored, while new videos keep things fresh.
Want a short phonics time? Turn on Focus to show only phonics songs, for as long as you choose.
Simple ways to help at home
- Watch together sometimes, and laugh at the same parts.
- Sing the songs later: in the bath, in the car, at bedtime.
- Talk about the story: “What happened? What would you do?” Any language is fine.
- Point and name: when you see an animal or colour from a video, say the English word.
- Read a real book together. Videos are a start, not the whole thing.
An honest note
- BattoTV is not an English class, and we do not promise fluency or test results.
- The stats in BattoTV show what your child watched and enjoyed. They do not measure learning.
- BattoTV does not add ads. YouTube may show ads in its player, and some creators include product promotions in their videos.
